OHB Teledata signs long-term contract for the supply of telematics terminals to DAF Trucks Bremen, September the 5th 2007 Bremen-based telematics company OHB Teledata GmbH, a subsidiary of the OHB Technology Group (Prime Standard, ISIN: DE0005936124), has entered into a long-term contract with truck manufacturer DAF Trucks N.V., Eindhoven, for the supply of telematics systems for truck serial production through the end of 2011. The order volume of the four-year supply contract amounts to roughly EUR 20 million altogether. The comprehensive telematics system for truck serial production developed by OHB has undergone final test runs since March 2007. The device combines functions which previously could only be covered by several separate devices: truck specific navigation, communication via GPRS, vehicle data recording via CAN bus, and logistic status transmission. This vast functionality makes this device the most sophisticated, most user-friendly telematics terminal on the European market for series-production trucks. The delivery of the first systems to be integrated into the medium and heavy model ranges of DAF trucks is scheduled for the end of this year.
