TIPS is a telematics system used for tracking the location of mobile assets and for communicating with them. The TIPS products comprise a component (e.g. an on-board computer) fitted to the mobile asset (e.g. vehicle, container) and the customer's head office. Either terrestrial or satellite networks can be used for data communications.
