Working
in conjunction with logistics company Fiege,
OHB Teledata developed a system combining the exchange
of order data with the transmission of barcodes.
The order status can be tracked online, while changes to the
order are possible on a real-time basis.
Vehicles play a central role in transportation logistics. Communication
via head office and the driver is dependent on the use of mobile
telephones.
Using modern on-board systems developed by OHB Teledata,
it is possible to integrate mobile telephones in the logistic
processes.
In this way, order data can be processed on board avoiding
the need to enter data transmitted over the telephone into the
system.
Not only the vehicle position but also the order status are
known. Forwarding and inventory management systems are integrated.
The necessary information is available as soon as the goods
are delivered. As a result, it is not necessary to wait for
the consignment documents, which are often delayed or incomplete.
