60th anniversary of the Lehrte converter station

At the beginning of July, OHB Teledata was invited to a DB event in Lehrte near Hanover to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Lehrte converter station.

A few years ago, we provided DB with intensive support for this project during a very extensive conversion of the complex 110 kV switchgear, from the design and implementation planning through to its realization, thus making a major contribution to the success of the plant.

A converter station combines an old proven technology with the current requirements of railroad operation. From this point of view, they are something special, because in such plants, for example, the frequency 16.7Hz is formed from the frequency 50Hz via motors and generators.

It was a great celebration, where interesting conversations were held in a pleasant atmosphere and new contacts were made for future cooperation.
